TEKsystems Desktop Support Engineer in Honolulu, Hawaii
Aloha! We are looking to hire a Desktop Support Engineer to provide fast and effective support for computer hardware and software issues. You will be required to work on-site and assist with hardware installations, software upgrades, systems integrations, and troubleshoot basic IT-related issues. To ensure success, you should have extensive knowledge of current operating systems and applications, good problem-solving skills, and high-level interpersonal skills.
Essential Functions
Provide remote and on-site support for one or more locations as needed
Responding to end user support requests and escalations from the Helpdesk via tickets
Software/Hardware installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting
Workstation deployments
Workstation image management
Patch management
Providing basic guidance in computer operation and management
Special projects as required
Skills:
Help desk, SCCM or similar, Windows OS
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology preferred
Experience
-2 to 3 years of IT experience
-Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate preferred
-A+ Certification preferred
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals
Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems
Experience with Dell and HP computer hardware
Knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 operating systems and domain environments
Experience with mobile devices (IOS, Android, Windows)
Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues
Ability to travel and work after hours support/On-Call when necessary
Excellent interpersonal skills
Good written and oral communication skills required to communicate action items taken to resolve IT-related issues to end-users in terms easily understood
Ability to lift 50 pounds
HDL is required
