Aerotek Wastewater Treatment Operator in Homestead, Florida
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Plant Operator for an operations project in Homestead, FL. The Plant Operator performs a wide range of mid-complex to complex tasks encompassing field assignments based on client requirements. Responsibilities
Performing daily operations and maintenance of the treatment plant.
Completing minor routine maintenance of equipment.
Demonstrating good interpersonal skills.
Applying a working knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology in carrying out assignments and applying standard policies and procedures within the specific discipline.
Operating facilities with computer or PLC controls.
Monitoring, regulating, and adjusting chlorinators, chemical feed pumps, and other process equipment.
Collecting samples and performing routine in-lab tests as required.
Maintaining a log of operations and maintenance activities and related records.
Operating the system to maintain compliance with permit requirements.
Washing clarifiers, dissolved air flotation systems, contact basins, and operating sludge handling equipment and other process unit equipment, as required.
Possessing good knowledge of the practices used and the equipment required in the O&M of industrial facilities and the ability to make routine laboratory and field tests for control of plant operations.
Possibly operating a variety of equipment such as forklifts, aerial or scissor lifts, generators, compressors, pumps, etc.
Participating actively in creating a safety culture at the jobsite.
Adhering to the policies and standards set forth in the Project Delivery Manual (PDM), Employee Manual, and Corporate Health & Safety Manual.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma / Vocational training or equivalent.
Applicable health & safety training.
Typically, 5+ years’ experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Wastewater operator licenses are preferred but not required.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Ability to perform basic control laboratory testing and understand and apply results.
Good record-keeping skills and comfort with computers and computer-controlled equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in wastewater, wastewater treatment, mechanical maintenance, repair, operation, pump assembly, valves, and water systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
