RSDC of Michigan HR Administrator in Holt, Michigan
RSDC, a world-class steel processor located in Mid-Michigan, has an opening for a Human Resources Coordinator.
The Human Resources Coordinator will assist the Human Resources Department with daily office operations and special projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers policies, procedures, and programs relating to all aspects of human resource activity.
- Assures compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws as well as regulations from other applicable agencies.
- Organizes, updates, and maintains personnel files; prepares and manages HR documents, and performs data entry for the HRIS system software. Assists with employment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, benefits administration, and payroll.
- Facilitates activities related to recruitment, including job posting, candidate sourcing and coordinating assessments, interviews, requests for background checks and drug screens and/or results.
- Conducts the new hire and onboarding processes, including preparation and presentation of an offer letter, review of company policies and benefit plans and collection and processing of new hire paperwork.
- Administers Workers Compensation and completes necessary follow-up work.
- Administers the unemployment process by providing vendor with necessary information and backup documentation regarding employee separation. Responds to general inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, timecards, etc. from employees.
- Performs general clerical duties to include filing, copying, mailing, etc. Assist with the hiring process including submitting job postings, conducting background checks, and scheduling candidate interviews as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have an Associate's degree, or equivalent education and experience including:
- Ability to act with tact and discretion, maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and exercise independent judgment
- Excellent customer service skills including the ability to interact in person and on the phone
- Strong oral/written communication skills
- Well organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks and interruptions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry skills (Microsoft Office experience required).
- Strong work ethic required
