SENIOR MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As member of Footwear Manufacturing team, you will be working closely with teams across the enterprise - Consumer Creation, Nike Explore Team (NXT), Sourcing, Chemical Engineering, Costing, Manufacturing Systems Engineering and our Manufacturing Partners. You will engage with leadership in Manufacturing and Engineering, as well as factory teams, to ensure the proper implementation of standardized best practices on the factory workshop floor. Additionally, you will partner with Footwear Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Manufacturing factory teams to evaluate effectiveness of global strategic initiatives and collaborate with Consumer Creation, Manufacturing Partners, and Manufacturing Systems Engineering teams to drive effective activation of advanced manufacturing capabilities. This role reports to a Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering based in Vietnam.

The candidate should have experience in applying knowledge of Manufacturing Operations – machineries, systems, processes, technologies, and materials required to consistently produce finished goods to a measurable standard – to identify opportunities and drive progress against goals.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the footwear industry related to manufacturing, engineering, or development.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in engineering, technical or science.

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of lasts, footwear patterns, tooling, chemical engineering (basic), manufacturing processes and various footwear constructions (preferably).

  • Demonstrated experience in working with multiple functions/stakeholders.

  • Understand the use of data and application of statistical methods and tools, and leverage data for fact-based decision making.

  • Proactively seeks diversity of inputs and potential solutions. Consistently challenges the status quo and thinks beyond traditional solutions and approaches.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, critical thinking and analytical skills. Be able to drive and coach teams with courage, and influence on mastering the fundamentals.

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).

  • Proficient in standard MS Office programs, business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

This role collaborates with Product Creation stakeholders by engaging in the development process, which includes participation in product tear-down meetings and proactively provide manufacturing feedback, identify potential risks and manufacturability challenges, and drive issue resolutions.

  • Partner with manufacturing teams and factory partners to drive process efficiency and ensure compliance with Nike’s manufacturing and quality standards.

  • Work alongside footwear Manufacturing Systems Engineer to scale foundation elements of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and assess their effectiveness.

  • Utilize footwear expertise and assessment tools to scale new capabilities and innovations at the factory level.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of global strategic initiatives and drive alignment with Nike’s global engineering strategies while delivering impactful local solutions.
