Job Description

Job Title: General Accountant

Location: Viet Nam, Ho Chi Minh city

About the role:

The job required the person to be General Accountant position, responsible for accounting and reporting tasks, primarily focusing on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger matters.

How you will contribute:

  • Oversee all accounting activities, including AP & AR processes, reconciliations, and GL posting.

  • Review, post, and correct daily transactions to ensure accurate recording in the accounting system, in compliance with internal procedures and current regulations.

  • Review purchase orders and payment requests before processing payments to ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Investigate any significant discrepancies or changes in GL accounts.

  • Collaborate with distributors and other parties to verify debit and credit notes, ensuring accurate billing.

  • Request updates for accruals from the team, check received accruals, verify automatic accruals on the DAS platform, and coordinate with the TPAP accounting team for monthly legal book closing to ensure proper accruals.

  • Handle company tax issues, including computation, filing, and reporting of taxes; monitor changes in tax laws and implement appropriate compliance measures.

  • Perform accounting operational tasks such as account posting, journal entries, and reconciliation of account balances.

  • Follow up with department coordinators on open POs, invoices, and GR-related matters.

  • Execute month-end closing transactions, including FA/tool depreciation/disposal, accrued operating expenses, salary, CIT calculation, and bank reconciliation.

  • Liaise with internal/external auditors, tax authorities, bankers, and relevant government bodies on accounting and finance matters.

  • Ensure timely month-end closing, inter-company reconciliation, preparation of monthly/quarterly/yearly management reports, monthly bank reconciliation, and audit schedules.

  • Coordinate with the E&Y team for monthly/quarterly/yearly VAT reporting.

  • Participate in ad-hoc accounting/admin assignments as needed.

  • Establish and periodically review strong accounting processes to ensure compliance and improve existing processes.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, or equivalent professional qualifications.

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience working in Pharmaceuticals MNCS using SAP is preferable.

  • Possesses an analytical mind, hands-on, and “can-do” attitude.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and thrive in a dynamic & challenging environment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and contribute effectively as part of a high-performing team.

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office – Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Proficiency in English communication is a must.
