The Cafe Shift Lead's role is an integral part of the efficient, enthusiastic team that makes Grand Central Bakery’s vibrant cafes such wonderful spaces. We are looking for someone who is passionate about serving delicious food and drink to a community of loyal customers. They are expected to regularly and efficiently work any station as needed, including working on the sandwich bar during a rush, and frequently serves as Person In Charge (PIC).
Location: Hillsboro Cafe, 118 SE. 2nd Ave., Hillsboro, OR 97123
Rate of Pay: $17.23 per hour plus tips.
- Estimated tip average is $6.00 - $7.00 per hour.
Schedule: Full-time. 25 or more hours per week. The ability to work weekends and holidays is required along with having schedule flexibility. Priority availability for Wednesdays and weekends.
Qualifications and Skills:
18 years of age or older
Ability to read, write, and speak English required
Basic math skills required
Maintains food handler’s card – new hires are expected to have a valid card by their first date of work
Experience with point-of-sale systems preferred
1+ year(s) experience in food service preferred
Must display professionalism and personality with customers
Physical requirements include but are not limited to:
Standing for 100% of the shift.
Working in a loud environment with frequent interruptions.
Lifting and carrying items up to 20 lbs.
Working in a building containing a bakery and is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat).
