Job Title: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Onsite (Hilliard, OH)

Daily Schedule: 6am-2pm or 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm

Pay Rate: $32.38/hr.

Job Description:

The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer, Facility will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within a Team Data Center, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring adherence to established practices and procedures.

  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.

  • Coordinate with IT managers and business leaders to manage projects, capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.

  • Assist in the design, build-out, and efficiency enhancement projects of new facilities.

  • Manage asset and inventory.

  • Assist in recruitment efforts.

  • Deliver quality service and meet all customer demands.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree with relevant experience.

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience.

  • 0-2 years of management experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Top 3 Must-Have Hard Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer skills, MS Office.

  • Team-oriented.

  • Background in electrical or mechanical maintenance and HVAC.

Role Interesting:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of Data Center Engineering Experience.

  • 0-2 years of Data Center Management Experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.

  • Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
