About This Job

Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening for a Project Technical Manager at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of strategic deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage technical project(s) and serve as a liaison between the Information Services Directorate, Contracting, Finance, and other program teams

  • Manage several Jira projects and confluence spaces in support of the contract

  • Prepare project execution plans and identify technical and business resources needed, review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports

  • Assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives while providing technical and analytical guidance to project team

  • Meet often with primary contacts within the government to understand needs and direction of the program

  • Assist customers in the development of current and future IT system requirements

  • Evaluate plans and criteria for technical activities and recommend alternatives as required to comply with customer and company obligations

  • Model and demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety, and security

  • Ensure achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives

  • Conduct research in areas that require a high level of expertise and knowledge in areas of specialization

  • Maintain knowledge in area of specialization and awareness of developments in related fields, including extensive contributions to proposal efforts when requested by management

  • Direct project activities or segments of major projects, taking responsibility for achievement of schedule, cost, and technical performance objectives

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required Experience and Education for this Position:

  • High School diploma and 8 years of related IT or Program Management experience, or

  • BA/BS degree and 7 years of related IT or Program Management experience, or

  • MA/MS degree and 5 years of related IT or Program Management experience

The successful applicant will display the following characteristics:

  • Proven track record in project management

  • Proven track record working with customers and building strong relationships

  • Proven experience working in a DoD enterprise environment

  • Vast knowledge of Jira and Confluence

  • Working knowledge of network infrastructure and hardware

  • Able to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative, complex problem-solving skills, and an ability to organize assigned daily tasks and the tasks of subordinates with no supervision

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, external vendors, various levels of management and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience

  • Committed to results and success in accomplishing goals

  • Effective in developing and capturing metrics that reflect performance

  • A fast learner with an ability to quickly understand different technologies

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Experience with troubleshooting, identifying and solving issues

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Previous success in developing standards, process improvement, and managing processes

  • Ability to review, analyze, document, and explain technical systems and data

  • Experience with matrix organizations

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar

  • Experience working in Microsoft Visio

  • Experience reviewing construction blueprints and working on construction projects

  • Experience in quality control and inspection oversight

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification or similar

  • Active security clearance preferred

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $75510 - $128340

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
