Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Job Description

As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing all electrical distribution systems. This includes motor control work and associated electrical equipment. You will also be expected to install various types of conduit, inspect and test electrical system components, complete daily work assignments, and maintain detailed records of materials used. Utilizing schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals will be crucial for the successful completion of assigned projects. Surveying electrical systems, circuits, and plans will also be a key part of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical distribution systems including motor control work and associated electrical equipment.

  • Install conduit including PVC, EMT, RMC, and IMC.

  • Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears.

  • Complete daily work assignments and record materials used on the job.

  • Work confidently with a helper or small crew.

  • Run computer cables, connect computer jacks and plugs, and test for adequate operation.

  • Utilize schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete projects.

  • Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical installation and maintenance

  • Conduit installation and bending

  • Troubleshooting electrical systems

  • Industrial and PLC troubleshooting

  • Mechanical skills

  • Pulling and terminating wire

  • Wiring and schematics interpretation

  • Repair and maintenance of electrical systems

  • Experience with 3-phase motors

Work Environment

You will be traveling to different manufacturing plants around Hickory and surrounding areas, especially during peak seasons (summer and warmer months). You will work from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. All work will be exposed, requiring the ability to run, pull, and terminate wire and conduit. The biggest customers include fiber optic, paper mills, and automotive plants.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hickory, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
