This is a Hybrid Remote position.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Working under general supervision, this position is responsible for project leadership and ongoing information technology management for one or more small-to-medium sized operational area within the Medical Center. This position must lead project teams of IRT personnel and other department personnel in planning and executing projects in operational areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES : The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
Lead large departmental projects or multiple smaller projects according to a defined project management process Analyze user business needs, document requirements, and translate them into appropriate system requirement specifications for the selection of commercial applications and/or the creation of custom programs
Formulate and define project scope and objectives based on user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and business requirements
Prepare team documents and give presentations as required Work with other operational areas to ensure the effective and integrated delivery of IRT services as required for assigned projects and routine operations
Serves as an IRT liaison with the client community
Resolve application production problems and perform required documentation
Maintain application tables (e.g., configuration of HMC-specific parameters for an off-the-shelf application)
Use vendor-supplied tools to perform ad hoc reporting
Maintain a working relationship and ongoing communications with vendors (e.g., concerning routine enhancements, problem resolution, and planning)
Train and mentor less experienced IT employees
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor's degree plus four (4) additional years of related experience or eight (8) years total of related experience required
In-depth knowledge of at least one area of information technology and a solid working knowledge of several areas of information technology required
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Epic Capsule and GE Centricity fetal monitor integration experience preferred.
Ability to effectively assist with configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrades of medical devices and complex software applications.
Ability to support the software and hardware that integrates physiological monitors, fetal monitors, anesthesia machines, and bed management data to the electronic health record.
Ability to coordinate with vendors on maintaining software and hardware, trouble-shooting issues, and planning for upgrades, patches, etc.
Ability to develop effective support procedures and create user and technical documentation.
Assist with projects in order to implement/change/enhance new or existing devices and other software applications that integrate with electronic health record.
Participate in on and off hours on call rotation.
Effectively collaborate with IS, clinicians, and other support teams and end users at all levels of the organization.
Position is primarily remote (estimate: 80%); however, the candidate must have availability to travel on site to south central PA locations (Camp Hill, Enola, Lancaster, Reading, Hershey) to assist with device integration installations and other support on a regular basis.
Previous experience with Epic applications, medical device integration with electronic health records, and/or support of medical devices preferred.
