Our team of multi-disciplinary experts is seeking an experienced Electrical Professional Engineer who will utilize their design expertise to dream big ideas on various and complex water and wastewater utility projects. We’d rely on your collaboration skills to lead our team members, and coordinate interdisciplinary work between teammates, for both local and remote projects. The projects associated with this position will focus on electrical distribution systems primarily for water and wastewater treatment-related facilities which typically include process treatment structures and buildings. By you taking the lead with generating and reviewing electrical equipment drawings, specifications, and approving vendor submittals we will continue to ensure the solid relationship our clients have come to expect from Jacobs. You’ll also assist in a proactive manner on internal as well as external business opportunities. We'll Expect You To:

• Be responsible for design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities

• From planning studies to final design, the senior electrical engineer will lead in preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects

• Electrical systems include low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, UPS, and batteries

• Expertly apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to electrical engineering industry

• Manage several different assignments simultaneously

• Provide quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates in the water market

• Perform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash

• Have competency in equipment sizing, grounding, and relay coordination

• Perform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clients

• Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor’s request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings

• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations

• Develop basis of design reports and technical memorandums

• Mentor junior staff

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

• Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to be licensed in multiple states

• 10 years of experience in professional design of electrical systems associated with water projects

• Low and medium voltage power distribution experience

• Solid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes, and standard practices, including the National Electrical (NEC) and NFPA requirements

• Hands-on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment options

• Electrical system testing and commissioning experience

• Familiarity with NFPA 820 requirements

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Instrumentation and Control system design experience

• Experience with LEED certification or similar sustainability experience

• Experience with renewable energy systems like wind and solar
