Gibbs Die Casting is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and as such will recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job titles without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, genetics, physical or mental disability, or other protected characteristic.EHS ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST-1st SHIFT ESSENTIAL DUTIES Coordinates environmental permitting and project activities including scheduling, tracking, and planning for environmental assessments, site investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial action plans for Title V, KPDES, Tier II and Tier III, Wastewater and Hazardous Waste Registrations. Leads development of Sustainability Program including energy and greenhouse gas (GHG)/ carbon emissions inventories, water footprints, waste footprints and other environmental inventories including data analysis, emissions factor development, calculation methodology, and customer third-party environmental reporting activities. Ensures Gibbs is following all federal, state and local environmental regulations (air, waste water, water, waste and hazardous waste). Develops compliance strategy(s) to meet regulatory and customer requirements. Maintains ISO 14001 certification and coordinating activities as the site EMS representative. Interprets data and observations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines and advises management accordingly. Assesses environmental risk and evaluates hazardous conditions and recommends engineering and administrative controls, and/or personal protective equipment. Uses Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), basic math, geometry and algebra to prepare various reports, including charts and graphs, to determine trends and needs. Conducts audits to ensure compliance and follows up with appropriate departmental supervisors/managers. Evaluates industrial hygiene (IH) issues for facility personnel through compliance review, auditing, and IH testing and recommended mitigation to plant management. Prepares technical documentation for management's use when dealing with regulatory agencies and other internal/external needs. Documents and works with respective plant management on recommended corrective actions, maintains incident investigation records, follows up on and reviews implemented corrective actions. Performs and/or coordinates EHS required training as needed (ISO 14001, SWPPP, RCRA, Emergency Response, etc.). Participates and/or leads EHS teams with an emphasis on Environmental and Sustainability. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Works weekends and overtime as required. Meets all physical and environmental requirements. Follows all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Policy regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment. REQUIREMENTS Education: B.S. in Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, EHS, or related engineering discipline. Certifications: Must have or obtainDOT Hazardous Waste Certification; RCRA Hazardous Waste Management; and ISO 14001 Auditor Certification.
