Description We are seeking an IT Director based in Hempstead, New York. This pivotal leadership role involves overseeing the strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and comprehensive project management of IT services to ensure alignment with the organization's objectives. The position is crucial to the delivery of IT projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement the ITS strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall goals.
• Oversee the allocation and optimization of ITS resources, including personnel, technology, and financial resources.
• Develop and manage the ITS budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
• Lead the project management office (PMO), setting standards and methodologies for project delivery.
• Oversee the lifecycle of IT projects, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and quality standards.
• Promote and implement agile and lean practices within the ITS department to enhance flexibility and responsiveness.
• Act as a liaison between ITS and business units, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project goals and progress.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with ITS projects.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project progress and effectiveness. Requirements • The candidate must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
• The role demands a thorough understanding and practical experience in IT project management.
• The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership skills to manage and guide the IT team effectively.
• Strong strategic planning and business acumen are required to align IT initiatives with business goals.
• The candidate must demonstrate an ability to manage budgets and understand financial implications of IT decisions.
• Expertise in setting up and managing IT infrastructure and systems is a must.
• The candidate should have a proven track record of successful project delivery within deadlines and budget.
• Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with various stakeholders, both internal and external.
• The candidate needs to be updated with the latest technology trends and how they can be leveraged for business benefit.
• A problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues promptly is mandatory.
• The candidate should be able to ensure IT systems comply with industry regulations.
• The role requires the candidate to manage IT risk and oversee IT security protocols.
• The candidate must possess strong vendor management skills to negotiate and manage contracts with IT service providers.
• The candidate should have experience in change management and be comfortable leading teams through technology transitions.
• Strong analytical skills are required to assess system performance and implement improvements.
