Opening: Assistant Store Manager (ASM)

Pay Range: $52K-$62K 

Availability: Mon thru Saturday (5 days/ week)

Location: Heber City

    Primary Responsibilities:

    The Heber Store Manager oversees all operations necessary to manage the Heber Store successfully, including management of staff, volunteers and inventory from the point of handoff from receiving to the moment it is paid for at the register. In order to provide leadership and administrative oversight, the Heber Store Manager personally executes the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily management of all staff and volunteers assigned to the Heber Store. This includes approving hours, working with Operations Manager regarding employee hours and managing PTO and sick time for all staff assigned to the Heber Store location.

  • Responsible for store operations: policies and procedures, cleanliness, pricing, sales, displays, organization and scheduling store staff and volunteers.

  • Training: responsible for onboarding and complete training of all staff and volunteers. Heber Store Manager will work with Volunteer Coordinator to schedule volunteers.

  • Schedule quarterly meetings with staff and any key volunteers for ongoing training and to communicate important organizational updates.

  • Responsible for sorting, organizing and rotating donations that come from Park City and the Heber community.

  • Responsible for keeping the receiving area sorted, organized, and clean. Deliveries made by Park City receiving staff should be sorted, priced, and put on the sales floor within 48 hours of delivery.

  • Responsible for communicating with the PC receiving team to ensure blue box, recycling, and dump runs are done to keep the receiving area organized and clean.  

  • Promote store events and sales: Determine weekly sale promotions, and use Facebook and Instagram as a marketing tool to communicate events and sales. Post at least one promotion each week on Facebook and Instagram platforms.

  • Use weekly and monthly sales information from the Operations Manager to set obtainable goals each week and/or month with the Heber team.

  • Responsible for pricing incoming donations that have been designated for the Heber Store. It is assumed that you will delegate most of the pricing to other staff and volunteers to assist with this task.

  • Responsible for keeping non-store or common areas organized, clean, and clear of merchandise, areas of focus are, in front of the cash register, behind the cash register, emergency assistance meeting room, and space between Store and Pantry.

  • Responsible for overseeing register receipts, closing tills accurately every day, and dropping deposits at the bank daily.

    In addition, effective leadership in this department requires the Heber Store Manager to show excellence in fulfilling any task performed within the store. The store manager should establish and continually sharpen personal ability to succeed in the following responsibilities:

  • Providing exemplary customer service and a positive experience for everyone walking through our front doors.

  • Price display and rotate merchandise regularly.

  • Train develop and mentor all store employees to productively perform all duties needed to successfully grow sales and customer base.

  • Train and develop volunteers to perform tasks that will help free up time to focus on customer service, merchandising, and marketing.

    Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate productively with donors, department staff, CCPC employees, volunteers, and management concerning routine information, performance, strategy, and complex situations.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, able to confidently plan ahead and manage multiple tasks and events.

  • Strong relational, communication, interpersonal, and management skills.

  • Ability to work independently, in a multi-task environment and maintain a positive attitude in the midst of change.

  • Flexibility to establish and reevaluate priorities in a continually evolving workplace.

  • Proven strength directing others in a formal leadership role.

  • Success working independently and collaboratively within a team and doing so with a positive attitude appropriate for an organization like CCPC.

  • Professional experience sufficient to exemplify the abilities above.

  • Good driving record and ability to drive box trucks and trailers.

  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds and walk or carry loads regularly.

  • Strong organizational skills.
