Cedar View Dairy, LLC in Heber City, Utah seeks for five (possible more) full-time General Farm, Livestock and Dairy Workers. No experience or education required. Duties: Year-Round -- Coordinate daily dairy milk production and milking twice a day; alert manager when medication is needed; perform on-call, basic maintenance of machinery; ensure horses are fed, shod, and able to ride and rope as needed; on call response to calls when livestock have broken fences and are out of associated fields; coordinate records of all livestock as needed. Fertilize cropland; prepare sprinkler lines and irrigation systems; prepare ground for planting and growing; operate equipment to prepare land and grow crops; coordinate changing of sprinklers and flood irrigation. Spring livestock duties for beef cattle include calving, which entails: tagging calves; vaccinating new calves; observing and helping with any problem birthing and sick animals; branding new animals; and vaccinating animals as directed; maintain irrigation equipment, as necessary; operate farm machinery to cut, bale, haul, and wrap wet silage and alfalfa bales; harvest crops. Summer livestock duties include: rotate mountain grazing of livestock as directed; maintain and repair fences; move cattle as directed to ensure animals stay on proper grazing area; gather and move cattle to farm when needed. Finish annual harvest; secure irrigation equipment and sprinkler lines for winterization; schedule and perform maintenance events of harvesting equipment; and winterize and store irrigation and farm equipment for the season. Fall livestock duties include: gather and move beef cattle from Summer grazing land back to farm. Under direction of management; vaccinate, assist with pregnancy checks, and prepare beef calves for shipping. Assist in moving cattle to Winter grazing ground. Perform general, light maintenance of farm and irrigation equipment for the following Summer season. Under direction of management, remove manure from dairy to use as fertilizer on farm ground. Winter livestock duties include: under direction of ranch manager, work with beef and dairy cattle to prepare for calving; keep livestock fed; prepare unsold livestock for the next season; transport feed from stack yards to feed beef and dairy cattle throughout Winter season.
