An Quality & Reliability Engineer is needed for a technology company that designs and manufactures connectors and sensors for several industries, such as automotive, industrial equipment, data communication systems, and more, in the Hauppauge, NY area. The Quality & Reliability Engineer role involves leading quality initiatives in electro-mechanical manufacturing, ing Six Sigma methodologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and managing customer requirements.

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

  • Champion Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Extraordinary Customer Experience (ECE) initiatives.

  • Utilize systematic problem-solving processes (e.g., Six Sigma, DMAIC) to address QPL Relay Qualification failures.

  • Develop analytical methods and documentation for establishing product reliability.

  • Manage customer complaints, lead 8D responses including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative measures

  • Support NPI from implementation through final product approval.

  • Participate in Value Stream Change Management activities.

  • Coordinate inspection and action of non-conforming supplied products within Value Stream.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.

  • Experience with Histograms, Pareto charts, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), PFMEA, Control Plans, and other quality planning tools.

  • Proficient in 8D methods (e.g., 3x5-Why, Ishikawa diagrams).

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Industrial, Material Science, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Quality Assurance preferred, equivalent experience accepted.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment.

  • strong preference for experience in aerospace; acceptable experience in automotive, industrial & commercial, or transportation sectors.

  • Background in electro-mechanical engineering.

  • Preferably Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Black Belt, or Green Belt certified.
