Westchester Jewish Community Services Assistant Medical Director of Addiction & Integrated Services in Hartsdale, New York
Overview:
Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is the largest community outpatient mental health provider in Westchester County, dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. We are currently seeking an addictionologist to join and help lead our dynamic team in management of addiction treatment services. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment with a flexible schedule and hybrid work options available.
The compensation range for this full-time position is $260,000 - $300,000.
Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Administration, planning, organization, and general management of Addiction Psychiatric Services under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer and in partnership and collaboration with the Director of Innovation, Integration, and Community Services responsible for overseeing addiction services throughout the agency.
Serve on the psychiatry medical leadership team and assist in overseeing medical and nursing services according to need, background, and experience, including staff education, supervision, and quality assurance
Provide comprehensive outpatient care for substance use disorders, generally conducting 60-minute initial evaluations and 30-minute follow-up visits, using and maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation within the electronic health record.
For psychiatrists, additionally provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care as needed.
For non-psychiatric addiction medicine physicians, additionally provide routine health monitoring physician services including physical examination and laboratory testing and screening for primary care purposes, as needed, with appropriate referral to specialty services when indicated
Focus on delivering quality patient care as a benefit from full nursing support, with LPNs handling p rior authorizations, lab results, medical records, injectable medications, and refill requests as well as administrative support for care coordination and scheduling.
Work within a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, mental health nurse practitioners/ advance practice clinicians, and nurses, and collaboratively in interdisciplinary care with social workers, psychologists, therapists, and counselors on staff at the agency’s clinics.
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following:
Must have MD/ DO degree
Valid New York State medical license
DEA and Medicaid #
Board certification in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine
Strong clinical, communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
Prior management, leadership, and public health experience is a plus
2+ years of post-training experience is a plus
Fluency in speaking Spanish as a second language is a plus
