The Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) is seeking an ambitious Dispatcher Supervisor at the centralized dispatch center. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Dispatcher Supervisor, you will plan, direct, and schedule the work of Pennsylvania Game Commission Dispatchers engaged in responding to statewide requests for emergency and non-emergency wildlife services. This work encompasses a full range of supervisory duties, monitoring system operations, as well as taking appropriate action when system anomalies occur and notifying agency managers of significant incidents. You will perform public service dispatching work which involves receiving, dispatching, and coordinating information and processes in the PGC Centralized Dispatch Center in addition to performing a variety of general support duties related to communication activities, including record keeping, typing, and filing.

You will operate a radio, telephone, audio recorder, and computer to coordinate communications between State Game Wardens, PGC staff, law enforcement agencies, and the public. The responsibilities of the position are carried out with considerable independence under the general supervision of the Centralized Dispatch Operations Manager. Additionally, work performance is reviewed for conformance to established policies and procedures through reports and conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Pennsylvania Game Commission Dispatcher (commonwealth title); or

Four years of dispatching experience involving police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel and services; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

You must possess a clear, firm voice and no major speech, hearing, or visual impairments that would interfere with understanding verbal communication, being understood, or using electronic communications equipment and visual display equipment.

All employees must possess and maintain CLEAN and JNET certifications for the duration of employment in this job.

Additional Requirement: You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): Available and willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays Possession of a valid Pennsylvania hunting license Dispatch operations experience including using two-way radio, multi-line telephone, computer aided dispatch systems, or performing complex clerical work Dispatch operations experience using a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system Dispatch operations experience including the use of a wireless headset and microphone Experience using computer systems for entering, updating, and retrieving information Possession of a valid Public Safety Telecommunicator certification issued by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials Experience using Microsoft Office software Ability to type while listening to a caller or radio traffic Willing to work and commute to Dauphin County, Pennsylvania
