The Pennsylvania State Police is searching for a qualified individual to fill the position of Fingerprint Technician to work in a 24/7 operation performing automated and manual classification, searching, and matching of fingerprints.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will utilize the Multi-Biometric Identification System (MBIS) to perform technical work of high-level difficulty in the analysis, classification and identification of fingerprints, including criminal and applicant fingerprint submissions, provided by criminal justice agencies and vendors via live scan or card scan. You will analyze fingerprint submissions to verify correct sequencing; to classify, identify and assign primary and reference pattern types; to set core and axis; to enter descriptive and image data; and to make identity determinations through the analysis of side by side images. The results of this process will determine positive or non-positive identification of an individual that may result in the update of existing files and records and the creation of a record within the Central Repository and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) files.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
