In Research and Development Tires machines for tire testing are developed, set up, commissioned and maintained at locations around the world. In this context, complex software systems are developed for the area of global Tire testing. We are looking for a software engineer (m/f/diverse) with the following main tasks:

  • Designing, developing, improving and maintenance of software systems for Continental Tires Testing centers locally and worldwide, regarding the complete tire testing process

  • Installation, improvement and maintenance of hardware and software systems implemented in testing machines and equipment at a local and global level

  • Cooperation of software development and maintenance support activities with local and external IT service providers

  • Support and guidance for global Tire testing colleagues regarding new software products, including manuals and trainings

The position is to be filled for a limited period of one year as part of a parental leave replacement.

  • Academic degree in technical computer science, IT, mechanical engineering, electrical engineer or similar

  • Ideally, a profound technical background

  • Good programming skills in the programming language Java and knowledge in web technology

  • Basic knowledge in Python preffered

  • Knowledge in Database Management

  • Knowledge of network technologies

  • Profound Experience working with Linux and Windows preferred

  • Basic knowledge in the field of measurement technology and calibrations

  • Very good German and good English language skills, both spoken and written

  • Goal, customer and quality-oriented thinking with simultaneous solution-oriented approach

  • Excellent ability to work in a team

  • Willingness to travel (ca. 5%)
