IBM Entry Level - Software Tester - Halifax in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Client Innovation Centre (CIC): Nova Scotia occupies a unique position in the IT marketplace - at the intersection of business and technology.
In this role, you'll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As a member of our team, you will help IBM clients solve some of their most challenging business problems, capitalize on market opportunities and achieve real value in today's tough economy.

Candidates must:
Have graduated no earlier than 2022, and will be graduating no later than 2024
Have an Associate's Degree, College Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or Master's Degree by date of employment
Exception: This program does not accept MBA or PhD candidates/graduates
Less than 2 years of full-time professional related work experience
Be eligible to work in Canada without current or future needs for visa sponsorship
Be willing and able to live and work in Nova Scotia, with minimal travel anticipated
Software Testers work closely with our development teams on to ensure the functionality of what's been created and to ensure it aligns with the client specifications, they may also be connecting with the client to ensure functional specifications are being implemented through technical requirements.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
You have the ability to work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test innovative applications, and support those applications for our highly valued customers
You are great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues
You have experience coding and using databases
Exposure to performance, or automation tools like Selenium
You have basic knowledge or hands on coding experience in one or more of the following technology areas: C++, C, Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, ASP .NET
Any prior experience in software testing is preferred
You have an excellent understanding of the software development life cycle and software testing
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Must be eligible for clearance and have lived in Canada for 5 - 10 years.
Any testing certification would be a nice to have.
