Eaton Corporation Engineer - Controls in Hadapsar, India

What you’ll do:

The Controls Engineer’s primary responsibility will be Production Level Controls development for EATON’s Electrification products on Power electronics and Power distribution portfolio. The position will be involved in many different aspects of the product life-cycle, ranging from product specification, requirements engineering, Design & Development, and validation. Successful candidates will possess the determination required to track down and solve hard to find vehicle level controls issues.

Applicant shall have experience in design, development of HV and LV Power converters. Applicant shall have exposure of performing analytical design calculations, knowledge of system requirements and validation methods including HILS and vehicle testing. Candidate should have knowledge of vehicle market and technology trends. The candidate must be self-motivated and possess good communication skills. Preferred to have cross functional team working experience (namely engineering, manufacturing, project management, marketing and supply chain).

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Power Electronics/Electrical or equivalent and relevant experience of 3-5 years in Motor controls development.

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge on torque control techniques such as slip based control, field oriented control and direct torque control.

  • Knowledge of PWM techniques like space vector, discontinuous and sinusoidal modulation.

  • Experience in motor control algorithm development using Model based design tools like MATLAB/Simulink/Target Link including SIL, MIL and HIL simulation.

  • Understanding of Embedded Coder and Auto Code Generation process

  • Hands on experience in analog and digital controls

  • Support dynamic simulation of electric drive system including performance, losses etc.

  • Experience in testing and tuning of motor control algorithm on dynamometers and vehicle environment.

  • Knowledge of RTOS , CAN & LIN.

  • Experience working with CANape, CANalyzer, JAZZ, ClearCase, ClearQuest tools .
