Job Description

The opportunity

We are looking for a Regulatory & Public Affair Assistant Manager who is able to to support and facilitate business and relevant stakeholders to obtain the company’s business strategies; support achievement of the business’ long-range strategic goals by identifying and managing regulatory, legislative and advocacy issues; contribute to enhance our relationship with regulators. You shall work with dynamic, professional, and strong core values organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare regular/ad-hoc reporting documents as and when required, paperworks, briefing and meeting notes for the meetings.

  • Conduct research on key political and regulatory developments that may impact Manulife.

  • Liaise with related divisions/departments in Manulife to remind the deadline and quality of periodic/ad hoc reports to regulators (Ministry of Finance, State Bank of Vietnam).

  • Review format of the official letters and reports sent by Manulife to the regulators.

  • Work closely with Legal & Compliance team and business teams to support regulatory approvals for licenses and transactions.

  • Perform administrative procedures/interactions with administrative offices of ISA, MOF, regulators and Insurance Association of Vietnam, including receiving and submitting hard copy documents (letters, reports, dossiers to request approval for new products/capital injection/agency training/others) to MOF’s one-stop counter/Administrative office.

  • Other administrative tasks of the Regulatory & Public Affairs Dept. (printing, conduct expense payments, manage department stationery and taxi fees and invoices, preparing for meetings including the meetings between Manulife (CEO/EMT) and regulators in Hanoi, logistics...).

  • Translate materials and documents as and when required.

  • Other tasks assigned by manager/the regional office.

This role report to Head of Regulatory and Public Affairs. You are Regulatory & Public Affair Assistant Manager to strengthen our relationship with regulators (ministries and government agents) and facilitate business's goals. You will work closely with Business and relevant stakeholders to support and advise them to meet the regulatory requirements of the regulators.

What we are looking for

  • Very strong oral and written English and Vietnamese communications skill, especially, business writings/presentations

  • Ability and willingness to work in a team spirit

  • Be hardworking & highly responsible

  • Experienced in insurance/banking/finance

  • Experience in working with government agents

  • Advanced IT skills (incl. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, ...);
