JOB SUMMARY

As an Operational SME – AI OPS, you understand a realistic landscape of AI capabilities within manufacturing and are an expert in Jabil business problems that can be solved by AI in your functional business area. You have an operational understanding of AI solution development, along with a realistic view of its capabilities and limitations. You are an expert in the business processes for your functional area and where AI can efficiently and effectively improve them. You remain customer-centric in the face of AI, with a goal of solving a current Jabil/customer’s problem. You understand and can communicate the challenges that come with adopting AI in manufacturing, such as difficulty in predicting ROI. As a Jabil AI champion, you will educate leadership, SMEs, and other stakeholders on the potential of AI in your functional business area.

You will work with both internal and cross-functional teams, that include data scientists and data engineers, in addition to traditional product teams and stakeholders. You don't need to be a data scientist, but you must be able to understand the fundamental terminology and concepts of AI. At a conceptual level, you know topics such as how a machine learning algorithm is trained, how feature engineering works and what kinds of AI approaches and techniques are out there ( such as predictive analytics, machine vision, and NLP . ) You understand where these approaches and techniques can be applied in your functional area and the lifecycle and phases of a Lean AI project, including business understanding, data understanding, and assessing project needs. You are familiar with AI bias, privacy breaches, adversarial attacks, and dataset shift and how to monitor these situations.

To be successful, you must be an excellent communicator in all forms, including in-person, virtual meetings and email. You understand that in many situations you serve as an AI- translator bridg ing the language of data science with the language of product development and manufacturing operations .

The Operational SME – AI OPS will adopt as its goal’s profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and the continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES·

  • Serve as AI product manager and champion for functional business area

  • Lead AI Ideation sessions to identify Jabil business problems that can be solved by AI

  • Conduct cross-functional AI ideation sessions with managers, SMEs, business analysts, and scientific advisers

  • Deliver AI ideation use case specifications to data science teams effectively

  • Assess AI use case from a problem-solution fit, implementation feasibility and measurable ROI perspectives

  • Create AI opportunity business use case for project tracking system that includes cost and measurable ROI targets

  • Create AI use case IBPM workflows and AI decision point models

  • Facilitate identification of core data producers and systems for creation of ML-ready datasets

  • Recommend AI serving layer based on AI consumer requirements

  • Assess AI model accuracy

  • Assess AI performance for target production environment

  • Assess AI data quality/ privacy/ sensitivity concerns

  • Assess AI bias and dataset shift concerns

  • Lead as Subject Matter Expert in all functional business area AI solutions

  • Critically evaluate large scale challenges in complex manufacturing processes, unique customer challenges (production/data) and operational data to determine efficient utilization and effectiveness of applications and resources

  • Lead as Subject Matter Expert in all DF applications and processes to support applications.

  • Communicate to all regional team s key DF and manufacturing metrics

  • Clarify and define the standardization SAP and Manufacturing Execution System configurations

  • Support, assist, and advi s e B usiness Unit C oordinators and B usiness Unit Managers , and Site Management on new & actual processes reliability , profitability , and accuracy of new project assumptions

  • Lead process improvement related activities for New Product Introduction.

  • Coach, mentor, and train resources within the DF team & other functional teams as required

  • Support and/or maintain all lower level Operational SME essential duties and responsibilities

  • E nsure the standardization of Jabil processes throughout the site in accordance with the global, regional and site direction

  • Develop new DF best practices with supporting data to Regional and Global DF teams to optimize existing best practices

  • Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and data integrity in order to support process improvement through the organization

  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety standards & requirements

  • Understanding of Quality Systems applied to internal manufacturing processes

  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD skills required .

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS· Degree in Industrial, Process or Manufacturing Engineering required (will consider other candidates that meet work experience criteria)· MS in Process or Industrial Engineering or MBA preferred· Lean Silver Certificate or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred· At least 12 years of working experience with 7 years of experience in Manufacturing or related field· Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
