The Tooling Engineering Technician is responsible for providing logistical and administrative support to the tooling engineering team. This
role involves supporting tooling database management, tooling capacity management and supplier accountability. This role plays a key role
in the success of the tooling and quality engineering teams by maintaining a robust Tooling Management System.
Responsibilities:
Manage accuracy of tooling database to ensure all suppliers and all tools are included and up to date.
Support supplier relationships and accountability metrics.
Assist in the development and maintenance of databases and information systems.
Assit in developing and communicating a proactive tooling maintenance program at suppliers.
Manage and organize files, records, and database to ensure easy access and retrieval of information.
Analyze data from the tooling management system to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Work with cross functional teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Prepare and distribute periodic reports on tool performance and departmental metrics.
Assist in the assessment and procurement of new tools.
Support DFM/Mold Design reviews and tooling trials as needed.
Support life cycle management review of tooling, i.e., identifying tools that are at end of life.
Provide support in the preparation of presentations and technical readouts.
Proactively review tooling capacity against forecast, create and distribute reports utilizing our Capacity Management System.
Stay updated with industry best practices and new technologies related to tooling and tooling management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Plastics Engineering or closely related technical field.
2 years minimum Work Experience
Chinese & English (business speaking, reading, writing) required.
Experience in injection molding or diecasting component manufacturing.
Experience in procurement of injection molded and die cast components or tooling.
Experience with Power BI preferred.
Project management experience a plus.
Basic skill in Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
