Electrical Engineer I Greenwood Village, CO If you're looking to start your Electrical Engineering career in power systems with a stable and rapidly growing utility company, this is the position for you! CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers. We're constantly searching for talented Electrical Engineers to join our diverse team of Profess Summary/Objective: CLPE Electrical Engineers work on design, development, and maintenance of electrical distribution and substation systems. You'll be involved throughout the life cycle of a project from conception to completion. You'll learn to develop project concepts, and participate on project design, procurement support, construction support, commissioning, and extended operations and maintenance support. Responsibilities & Duties: Assist in designing sub-transmission systems, substations, switching stations, and commercial/industrial power distribution systems. Develop concept design alternatives, engineering calculations, analysis, and engineering estimates for small-scale system improvement projects for substations and distribution systems. Assist Lead Engineers with major capital upgrade projects: site visits, engineering calculations, drawings, drafting, field inspections, technical report writing, etc. Perform site surveys for new utility service requests, develop concept design alternatives and present the alternatives to CLPE management and the customer. Create, update, and maintain GIS database for large-scale electrical distribution systems Analyze electrical fault events, power quality issues, system loading scenarios and assist with implementing corrective actions. Schedule and attend field walk-downs with our Customers to better understand and determine project requirements. Create system model for large-scale power system and perform various power system analysis/studies. Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Skills & Qualifications: BS degree, Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university. Power systems coursework preferred. Zero-two (0-2) years' related work experience. Internship experience desired. Familiar with power system analysis, distribution system modeling, and protective device coordination preferred. Coursework or experience with engineering software (such as ETAP or similar). Be a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. Other Requirements: You must be a US citizen. You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance. Valid Driver's License required. Ability to travel out of state to project sites. Benefits & Compensation: We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays. Salary range: $57,000-$74,000 based on experience plus eligible for participation in Short Term Incentive Plan.
