GE Vernova Lead Hot Gas Path Quality Engineer in Greenville, South Carolina

Job Description Summary

The Quality Engineer will establish internal processes required to enable high quality products, monitor the results of those processes with internal and external customers, determine root cause of any non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve process documentation active and enforced in assigned area to ensure consistent quality

  • Implement, maintain and continuously improve 5S methodology in assigned areas; drive culture change

  • Lead Six Sigma programs by driving and coaching Six Sigma projects

  • Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies and/or systems consistent with quality policies and procedures

  • Work with Material Review Board to disposition nonconforming material and devise remediation actions

  • Actively participate in the Supplier Quality Program to improve the quality of raw materials, or qualify new vendors

  • Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity

  • Provide advanced quality engineering of new product introduction involving new processes or advanced automated equipment

  • Maintain familiarity with manufacturing equipment in order to provide accurate investment planning, as well as appropriate calibration and preventative maintenance

  • Apply standard engineering techniques to assigned tasks and ensure that specific goals are met in terms of quality, quantity, and timeliness in order to meet department goals

  • Conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of power generation industrial work experience)

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in supply chain

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future

  • This position is 100% onsite in Greenville, SC GE plant

Desired Characteristics

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical or related fields

  • Demonstrated knowledge of GE Quality Systems

  • Prior Gas Turbine component experience and knowledge preferred

  • Prior leadership experience

  • Problem solving expertise (PFMEA, 8D, etc.)

  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and specifications

  • Ability to plan, communicate and execute

  • Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated integrity - accepts and adheres to high ethical, moral and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others

  • Inclusive; builds a connection with the team through personal involvement and trust

Pay Transparency

The starting base pay range for this position is $90,400-120,500. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This posting is expected to close on July 2, 2024 , or thereafter.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
