Description
We are recruiting a Purchaser in the Manufacturing industry based in GREENVILLE, South Carolina, United States. The main function of this role is to plan and purchase raw materials for the production of automotive parts. You'll be tasked with identifying and sourcing qualified primary and secondary suppliers, creating and managing reports and schedules, and maintaining good supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Identify and source qualified primary and secondary suppliers for the production of automotive parts
• Plan and execute orders based on ERP system data to ensure material coverage and timely delivery
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms for price, inventory levels, payment, and delivery terms
• Request PPAP and collaborate with the Quality Department
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with new and existing suppliers
• Monitor and maintain required inventory levels
• Resolve invoice and receiving issues
• Manage and issue monthly supplier scorecards
• Issue forecast planning reports to suppliers
• Participate in corporate Supply Chain Initiatives
• Communicate with production and project team members and managers to determine needs
• Use Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suites for various tasks
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
• Experience with IBM AS/400 required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites
• Familiarity with the 'About Time' software
• Extensive knowledge of buying processes and component selection
• Strong customer service skills and experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job if required
• Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
