Lockheed Martin Aircraft Painter, Entry level Paint Technician Level 1 - Multi Shift in Greenville, South Carolina

Description:

You will be the Aircraft Painter, Paint Technician Level_1 for the Lockheed Martin Greenville Paint Operations Team. Our team is responsible for Production and Sustainment paint/coating operations on F-16s and other military aircraft prior to delivery to our customers.

What You Will Be Doing

We're hiring an entry-level Aircraft Painter with skills or experience in sealant, compound fillers, paint coatings, and aircraft maintenance. This role involves masking aircraft, using different systems for documentation, and collaborating with team members. Some of the essential job functions will be:

• Learn the basic principles of surface preparation, including the importance of a clean, contaminant-free surface for painting. Understands the types of contaminants, the tools, processes, and chemicals used for their removal under direct supervision.

• Acquire knowledge of different types of aircraft paints, their basic application techniques, and compatible equipment, while adhering to initial safety and environmental protocols.

• Familiarize oneself with the basic functions and safety procedures for using hand-held and power tools in painting applications.

• Learn basics of painting equipment maintenance, including routine cleaning and simple checks to ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Gain awareness of company culture, values, and the basics of Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention and its impact on safety and operations.

Physical Duties:

• Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.

• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.

• Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.

• Perform repetitive movements and work overhead.

• Candidates must complete a post-offer medical exam prior to start.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks. The employee is regularly exposed to vibration.

Basic Qualifications:

- Candidate must have basic understanding of paint applications using various paint equipment, with automotive/aircraft experience or related training.

- Ability to work any shift and/or weekend as directed by operational requirements

- Must pass all Physical requirements in obtaining Respiratory certification

Desired Skills:

-Aircraft strip experience

-Full paint experience on Low Observable and RAM coatings

- Man lift operator experience

- Ability to work most paint tasks with minimal supervision

- Ability to interpret paint drawings and apply paint in accordance with standard processes

- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area

- High School education or equivalent (GED)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
