What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Develop and lead a collaborative / strategic partnership with Retail and Wholesale Customers across multiple fronts. Lead representation at the headquarters of these accounts and develop strategic relationships, business plans and execution impacting performance across all accounts within the team portfolio. Focus of the role will be to elevate and increase in-person contact and connections with customer portfolio supported with virtual tools (Teams, Zoom, etc.) to elevate visibility to the customer hierarchy. Emphasis placed on building strong collaborative relationships with our field sales organization to help enable execution, opportunity, and issue resolution.

Customer Development:

  • Engage with Sales leadership to share key channel and customer requirements and identify opportunities across the company.

  • Lead Customer Development strategies and plans for formal Joint Business Planning (JBP) processes across accounts.

  • Own customer-level contacts and partnerships to align the Company with customer key strategies.

  • Implement a total Customer Wiring approach to integrate the Company and the customer holistically.

  • Form a strategic partnership with customer management, representing “One Company” across the 3 business units.

Customer HQ Selling and Execution:

  • Deliver assigned Sales KPI's and key Sales and Brand initiatives for strategic customer accounts.

  • Identify opportunities to shape the customer's business practices growing Company brand share.

  • Gain commitment to the annual JPB with the customer.

  • Customize and link Company Brand Strategies with the customer's key strategies and plans.

Retail Store Development:

  • Enforce retail and wholesale partnership agreements in retail stores.

  • Maximize effectiveness of Merchandising Fixtures/Displays for a competitive advantage.

  • Deploy retail execution guidelines to maximize in-store sales results.

  • Ensure pricing models are fully implemented across the retail portfolio.

Communication and Insights:

  • Coordinate communication between assigned customer/channel and company personnel.

  • Report customer and competitive insights to identify sales opportunities.

  • Customize and align Category Leadership story and business drivers in key selling materials.

Business Planning:

  • Collaborate with key functional business stakeholders for assigned strategic customers.

  • Lead monthly business reviews and customer visits.

  • Support Strategic Customer Inputs into the Company Strategic Planning process.

  • Influence Customer Marketing and Brand Marketing teams on initiative plan development and execution.

Talent Development:

  • Coach, lead, and develop peers and cross-functional partners.

  • Support mentorship to improve ways of working.

  • Work on personal development plans for continuous improvement and growth.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED and 9+ years related work experience or

• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field of study and 5+ years related work experience

• Experience with National or Regional customer management within the Consumer Products Industry

• Experience selling to broad channel base: Convenience, Mass, Grocery, Drug, Dollar/Discount, Club, Wholesale and/or Specialty Tobacco channel

• Internal Headquarters Relationship, Planning, and Operations experience

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Must possess a valid driver’s license issued from state in which employed

• Must be able to travel domestically 50%

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• 10+ years related work experience

• 5+ years direct supervision/managerial experience

Work Environment and Physical Demand

• Requires moderate physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (10-50 lbs.)

• Reach and grasp objects / Hand eye coordination

• Able to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl

• Walks, sits, or stands for extended periods.

• Prolonged machine operation including vehicle, computer, and keyboard equipment

• Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

• Identify and distinguish color and shades of color

• Exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape

• Work a fluctuating work schedule
