What you will be doing
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated Thermal Management Intern. This position involves working on two projects focused on the next generation of battery electric trucks, providing you with invaluable hands-on experience in the automotive industry. It is ideal for someone who understands thermodynamics and has a passion for electric vehicles. In this role, you will explore the critical function of thermal management systems in electric vehicles while actively participating in daily project activities and learning from industry experts.
Responsibilities:
Assist with Daily Project Tasks: Support the Thermal Management Lead Engineer and the team with day-to-day activities related to thermal management in battery electric truck projects.
Monitor Thermal System Rig Development: Assist in tracking thermal management systems and software development with third-party suppliers.
Data Collection & Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze problem issues logs (PILs) obtained from testing rigs and test trucks.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work alongside engineers and other departments and outsource suppliers to integrate thermal management solutions into electric vehicle designs.
Learning & Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning about the intersection of thermodynamics and electric vehicle technology, focusing on the role of thermal management in enhancing battery electric vehicle (BEV) performance.
Who You Are
You are a student that is prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering (or mechanical, electrical, software, design, production, etc.). As a valued member of the engineering team within GTT, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the engineers in the department. GTT’s values collaboration and life-long learning and our goal is to contribute to your development while providing you an opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry. You will report to the Section Manager of Chassis Engineering.
Requirements:
Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Engineering at Bachelor or Masters Level at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the co-op/internship.
Internship allows the intern to work up to 40 hours per week
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
