About the position:

Repairs and maintains a wide variety of complex machines and costly production equipment. Plans assignments and coordinates activities with other functions. Performs work under minimal supervision. Provides technical leadership and support to other team members. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to others.

You will:

  • Diagnose machinery and equipment malfunctions.
  • Determine and troubleshoot complex repairing, maintaining and improvement of components. Determine if the repair can be done internally and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate parts for required repairs. Mentor and train team members.
  • Assemble, install and inspect new equipment and make modifications to existing equipment. Determine repair specifications for special purpose equipment.
  • Maintain and make improvements on new and current processes and procedures in partnership with department leadership.
  • Repair and maintain electro-mechanical numerically controlled production equipment, special purpose, production machinery and related equipment.
  • Proficient in a broad range of machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all machinery and equipment in the Company, providing support and training to the team as needed.
  • Required to use hand and machine tools to repair, adapt or reassemble machinery and equipment parts. Must be able to build new parts as needed.
  • Perform and assist leadership with conducting and oversight of preventative maintenance as required.
  • Must understand and work from various documents such as blueprints, wiring diagrams, machine specifications, etc.
  • May de-bug or modify new equipment. May produce standard work.
  • Provide technical direction to others.
  • Introduce new ideas and standard work, assist leadership with implementation and maintenance of standard work, processes and procedures.
  • Support the Company’s 5S program in an effort to maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat, organized manner.
  • Support Toyota Production System (TPS) driven processes and activities.
  • Consistently provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to others. May act as lead.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
  • Regular attendance in the workplace is required for interaction with others and to support teamwork.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understands and applies an expert knowledge of subject matter.
  • Possesses excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Requires extensive troubleshooting skills to diagnose and complete a wide variety of complex repairs.
  • Requires a high level of attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive understanding and working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or basic electronic principles and machine operations is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of repair and measuring equipment/tools and the application of belt drive mechanisms, gear trains, machine wiring, welding, cutting, brazing, metals and alloys as applied in repair and rebuild work is required.
  • Proficient level of computer skills and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) is preferred.

About the schedule:

This position is 1st shift and will work Sunday through Wednesday.

About you:

  • A High School Diploma, GED preferred. Technical certificate is highly preferred.
  • Eight or more years of related experience in a factory/warehouse environment is required.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience recruiting for rural locations and shift work
  • Experience with ADP or similar applicant tracking systems
  • Ability to develop creative approaches to sourcing passive and active candidates.

About the total compensation package:

Wage - $29.00 - $38.57 per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
