Job Summary The Accounts Receivable representative is responsible for working credit and initiating refunds of identified overpayment and resolving open discrepancies. This position also manages and reconciles financial transactions between the company and its patients. What you will do Resolves open credits in a timely manner consistent with government and commercial contract guidelines and if applicable initiates refund for patient or insurance payor. Reconciles cash, checks and credit card payments daily from within the system working closely with the Finance Department to dissolve any discrepancies. Prepares patient and insurance payments for payment posters. Investigates missing checks or corresponding remits by following up with insurance companies. Analyze aged refunds for stale dates. Monitor and distribute patient copays and payments when applicable. Maintain patient accounts by updating information and making necessary adjustments following clinic procedures. Education Qualifications High School Diploma and/or GED Required Experience Qualifications 1-3 years Minimum one year experience with insurance and reimbursement practice. Preferred Skills and Abilities Knowledge of computers and Windows based applications.
