Naval Education and Training Command PROGRAM ASSISTANT in Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Illinois

Summary You will serve as a PROGRAM ASSISTANT in the Selection and Placement Branch (N921) of NSTC GREAT LAKES. Responsibilities You will develop, monitor, manage, review, verify, and coordinate military personnel related information for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all actions. You will perform detailed analysis to determine whether a request meets the criteria or qualifications specified in the guidelines and are appropriate based on professional knowledge and experience. You will prepare program correspondence and make and/or respond to telephone calls regarding processing scholarship application files, medical qualifications, program information, notifications, and program results to personnel. You will generate queries through databases for tracking scholarship applicants, selection status, acceptance, and other required data points needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: ) Performing non-routine assignments and following up on; 2) Developing and organizing a vast amount of information in presentations and explain policies and decisions/recommendations to interested parties; 3) Operating a variety of electronic equipment (copier, computer, scanner, fax, etc.) and works with a variety of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); and 4) Assisting with creating, reviewing, evaluating, and sharing data-based solutions for Candidate Midshipman issues, strategic goals, and initiatives to achieve improvements in efficiency and quality of program. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching, locating and summarizing information for completion of projects, meetings, and correspondence, informational briefings; 2) Utilizing computer software programs including word processing, excel spreadsheets, power point or other programs to develop, maintain, utilize, and provide information; 3) Developing reports and information via organizing and manipulating data and exports data for use in other various types of software; and 4) Reviewing administrative procedures in order to identify areas where policies and procedures could be adapted and improved.
