LITTLE LEARNERS ACADEMY INC Pre-school / Pre-K Teacher in GREAT FALLS, Montana

Primary Teaching Duties: 1. Plan the daily program for a group of 8-16 preschool children in accordance with the policies and philosophy Little Learners Academy. Assistant Teacher or Aid will help to implement the daily program. Lessons plans shall be written and posted weekly. Plans should relate to the weekly theme and include a variety of learning activities that are age appropriate, incorporate a variety of learning styles and meet the needs of the children. 2. Be responsible for the arrangement, appearance and learning environments of the classroom and in collaboration with the teacher?s assistant. This includes wall displays and the cleanliness of the classroom, walls; windows, cubbies and floors. 3. Follow sign in and out procedures including checking identification when an unknown or unapproved person arrives to pick up a child. 4. Treat each child with respect and dignity and gear the program to meet the individual needs of the children in your care with concern for their interests, special needs and exceptional talents. 5. Help parents feel comfortable with our program and include them in meeting the needs of their children. This can be accomplished by greeting parents and children when they arrive in the mornings and depart in the evenings. 6. Ensure a healthy and safe environment for every child by being alert to hazards, follow health and safety regulations and procedures and being a good role model. 7. Administer medications and document it in accordance with the state licensing regulations. General Work Requirements: 1. Familiarize yourself with the state licensing regulations regulating Child Care Centers, the operating policies and employee hand book for Little Learners Academy and adhere to these regulations and policies. 2. Early Childhood Professionals are mandated reporters of suspected child abuse and neglect. Document and report all incidents of suspected abuse and neglect to the center Administrator and if warranted to the Department of Public Health and Human Services at 1-866-820-5437. 3. Attend staff meetings and training sessions necessary to meet annual requirement for licensing and the Early Care and Education Practitioner Registry Career Path. 4. Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping tasks of the center. This includes maintaining cleanliness and sanitizing requirements of the areas used by the children, cleaning the staff restroom and storage room. 5. Document and report all accidents or injuries involving children, staff, parents or visitors to the Center Administrator. 6. Maintain confidentially of families and colleagues. Follow HIPAA guidelines regarding protected health information for the children. 7. It is your responsibility to clock yourself in and out on the computer. Pay periods are from the 11th of the month through the 10th of the next month, paydays are the 1st & 15th of each month. If the either dates follows on a Saturday we will try to have checks here on Friday; if the either dates are on a Sunday checks will be here on Monday. Schedule: 5 eight hours shifts with 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Continuing training is required by the State of Montana. LLA will work with you to the greatest extent as possible to accommodate these times and dates. Status: Non-exempt-hours worked in excess of 40 per week during the Sunday through Saturday workweek must be pre-approved by the Center Director. If overtime is approved this will be paid as overtime at a rate of 1.5% of normal hourly wage. Experience Education: Must have two years documented experience working with children in a registered or licensed child care setting and 8 childcare continuing training hours per year. Transportation: Must be able to get to work and training sessions. Public transportation is available. Position Supervised By: Staff Supervisor, Asst. Director, Administrator Provides Supervision To: Teacher aide or volunteers in your classroom Physical Requirements: Position requires the abil ty to read and comprehend written materials, the ability to communicate in English by phone and in person, he ability to sit on low furniture or the floor and stand up from that position, the ability to lift up to 40 lbs., small motor skills to assist with classroom project Position requires a State and/or FBI and Child Protective Services background checks, Department of Motor Vehicle driving report. You must also have two MMR and currant Tetanus immunizations (within the past 10 years) and provide documentation, and have a currant first aid and CPR cards certifying both infants and children.
