Job Summary

Provides advanced support for Director, System Retirement and supporting retirement team to ensure proper process flow and operations internally and externally. Responsible for leading a wide range of activities relating to the defined benefits pension plans of Corewell Health. Responsible for leading a wide range of complex transactions, including auditing, risk assumption, and eligibility transactions while establishing process improvements and recommendations. Attention to detail and project management skills within this position will solidify a positive outcome for the functional needs of the retirement department. Comfortable with reviewing and analyzing data while working alongside operational vendors. Also assume all duties of the mid-level role, Specialist, System Benefits. Including but not limited to; directly supports the day to day of the System Retirement Team and is responsible for assisting with the administration of defined benefit pension plans, and programs, and any ad hoc projects. Provide retirement plan expertise when engaging with Team Members and vendors and collaborate with other areas of HR as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Collaboration with HR Technology or IT on all file feeds, errors or omissions, and Workday processes. Review and analyze any data variances each month.

  • Facilitate the calculation and administration of employee retiree/term vested pension amounts. This can include transactions in coordination with vendors, carriers, internal HR departments, ServiceNow and Workday systems to complete team member transactions. Additionally, you will communication to the team member or to HR any response to an operational retirement plan question or elevation.

  • Will serve as the first line contact for operational vendor questions and troubleshooting of team member data. Collaborate with HR technology and IT on ongoing streamlining of processes. Partner with HR Technology on discussing and developing effective solutions. Leads to promote change and continue ongoing integration work.

  • Ongoing review to ensure plans remain in compliance with IRS and DOL rules. Within the function you will use multi-step problem solving skills to analyze, review retirement plan data while upholding the accuracy of the team members enrollment elections.

  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety relation competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • 5 years of relevant experience insurance background, retirement plan administration, or benefits
