Corewell Health Audiologist - Grand Rapids/Holland, MI in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Job Summary

Audiologist will split time between Corewell ENT at 4069 Lake Drive and Corewell Integrated Care Campus At Holland. Role does include diagnostic audiological testing (Audiogram, OAE's, and Tympanograms), and dispensing hearing devices/BAHA for all ages. Does not include Cochlear Implant Evaluations, Electrophysiological Procedures, or Comprehensive Vestibular Assessment.

Under general supervision, an audiologist is a person who provides and coordinates services to the auditorily handicapped. The audiologist should be prepared to deal with problems stemming from dysfunction of any part of the auditory system. He/she must be capable of acting as an advisor and a resource of knowledge to nursing staff, physicians, etc., regarding the technical aspects of making appropriate management recommendations and referrals.

Essential Functions

  • Performs diagnostic audiological services and assessments for all ages (neonate to adult).

  • Performs evaluations for potential Cochlear Implant Patients. Provides Aural rehabilitation and mapping of external processor. Provide physician with report on progress.

  • Performs electrophysiological procedures, i.e., Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BAER) testing, in the assessment of auditory and vestibular function.

  • Review of each infant hearing-screening test. Trains and orients infant hearing screening technicians and volunteers. Management of database and program studies.

  • Participates as a team member for such clinics as Oral-Facial, Neonatal follow-up and any other clinics having a need for audiological services and/or consultation.

  • Participates in audiological screening programs by over-reading and interpreting abnormal test results.

  • Prepares oral and written reports of patients’ test results, differential diagnoses, treatment progress and recommendations.

  • Provides in-service/lectures and educational opportunities for members of the department as well as other allied health professionals.

Qualifications

  • Required Master's Degree

  • LIC-Audiologist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

  • CRT-CPR - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required

  • CRT-Clinical Competency in Audiology Certification (CCC-A) - AACVPR American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Upon Hire preferred Or

  • CRT-Clinical Competency in Audiology Certification (CCC-A) - AAA American Academy of Audiology Upon Hire preferred Or

  • CRT-Clinical Competency in Audiology Certification (CCC-A) - ASHA American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Upon Hire preferred
