We are looking for a R&D Manager for Low Voltage Switchgear. This position will be based in Grand Prairie, TX.

This role will report to the Director of R&D for Electrical Apparatus and will manage individual contributors.

In this role you will be responsible for the product and technology development for Low Voltage Switchgear.

You will make an impact:

  • Manage a team of R&D engineers developing standard designs and configuration rules for Low Voltage Switchgear.

  • Ensure the LVS team follows appropriate design practices, follows necessary PLM process steps, and meets industry and regulatory requirements including UL Standards, the National Electrical Code, IEEE Standards, ANSI Standards, Canadian Standards Association, NEMA Standards, and utility requirements.

  • Work closely with product management to ensure the LVS product roadmap is complete for the next three to five years.

  • Prioritize projects with input from product management, manufacturing, and standards organizations.

  • Prepare and manage annual budget, staffing and necessary resources for the department.

  • Set goals and priorities for department staff. Coach, manage, and oversee team development.

  • Effectively set and manage expectations with cross functional teams and upper management on project timelines.

  • Support internal and external customers with product and technical expertise as needed.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Power Products industry.

  • 10+ years of experience in product design and/or research and development.

  • Strong knowledge of UL 1558, UL 891, ANSI/IEEE C37.20.1 and NEC.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

  • Travel required will be less than 25%.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing systems including routings, bill of materials, sheet metal punching and stamping, plastic molding, painting, plating, and assembly.

  • Knowledge of CAD tools (Creo and Teamcenter)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Engineering Management or Business Administration (MSEM, MBA).

  • Prior experience with codes and standards organizations including UL, CSA, NOM, NEC, IEEE, ANSI NEMA, and others.

  • Prior management experience.

  • Proficient with MS-Office applications.

  • The pay range for this position is $130,690.00 - $224,040.00 and comes with a 15% incentive compensation. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
