Summary:

Assist the Manager of Facilities & Construction to facilitate the successful completion of construction projects and major renovations. Coordinate with departments and contractors to help minimize impacts to patients, teammates and visitors. Responsibilities include overall administrative support of project planning, scheduling, field installation, start-up, and close out of projects. Individual ownership of minor projects may be assigned.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for organizing and managing multiple documents for capital construction projects, in-house projects, and facility impact reports.

  2. Develop & document Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), Pre-Construction Risk Assessment (PCRA), Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA). Perform weekly ILSM walk throughs, coordinate shutdown requests, and verify necessary Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) inspections are completed.

  3. Schedule and attend project meetings with internal & external stakeholders, including executive level Building & Grounds Committee and maintain meeting minutes.

  4. Perform duties including site walk throughs to identify deficiencies, ensure safety & compliance and update project status.

  5. Proactively communicate project schedules, project change proposals and related project activities on a regular basis between contractors and hospital teammates and seek to continuously improve customer satisfaction.

  6. Routinely initiates contact with architects, engineers, consultants, executives, contractors, directors, managers associated with facility-related projects.

  7. Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies, and subcontractors necessary for timely and cost-effective completion of minor renovation projects.

  8. Submit Purchase Order (PO) and invoice requests for authorization and payment.

  9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Other information:

Education

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Licensure/Certification

• Certified Healthcare Constructor preferred within one year

Experience

• Two years of construction experience

• Healthcare experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrates good organizational skills.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and documents preferred.

• Good interpersonal skills. Ability to build effective relationships with leadership, architects, construction professionals, tradespeople, and hospital teammates.

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

• Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
