Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in the Government sector, located in GOLDEN, Colorado. This role will involve a variety of responsibilities, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Carry out account reconciliation tasks to ensure financial data accuracy
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial transparency
• Process bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly
• Prepare and record journal entries as part of the month-end close process
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting
• Manage payroll for a significant number of employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Use Tyler Technologies Munis for various accounting tasks
• Adhere to GASB standards in all financial reporting
• Provide financial services and support to municipalities Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required.
• Familiarity with Balance Sheet Reconciliation is essential.
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is expected.
• Demonstrated capability in managing General Ledger is necessary.
• Ability to accurately handle Journal Entries is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Experience with Month End Close processes is expected.
• Knowledge of Tyler Technologies Munis software is necessary.
• Understanding of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) principles is required.
• Experience in managing Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees is essential.
• Prior work experience with Municipalities is expected.
