Educational Qualification: -
Graduate or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Additional Qualification: -
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Trained/ certified for VT Level I / II as per SNT-TC-1A.
Internal Auditor as per VDA 6.3 standard will be added advantage.
Experience: -
6-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance role within an engineering / manufacturing or similar Industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Create and maintain comprehensive QA procedures, control plan, test plan and QAP to ensure consistent quality across all manufacturing processes.
• Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR).
• Monitor and evaluate different welding processes to ensure compliance with standards and product specifications.
• Continuously monitor manufacturing processes to ensure they operate within defined parameters and meet quality specifications.
• Investigate and analyze root causes of quality issues by using statistical tools, 7 QC tools, RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate and work closely with engineering, production, procurement, and other departments to integrate quality considerations into all aspects of manufacturing.
• Review and Analyze NCR (Non-Conformance report) and take a lead in NCR closure by involving CFT.
• Support in comprehensive audits of potential and existing suppliers to assess their manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Work closely with selected suppliers to set up robust quality assurance processes and procedures at their facilities, ensuring they align with Siemens specifications and standards.
• Continuously monitor supplier performance, review quality output, and collaborate with suppliers to address any quality issues promptly, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality product.
• Perform product/process audits to assess compliance with QA policies and procedures and participate in external audits.
• Initiate process improvements projects to maximize production efficiency and effectiveness by conducting FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), Quality Circle Meetings and Kaizen activity.
• Provide support and involvement in new product development improvements through early involvement in part development process as per APQP for First time Right development.
Skill and Knowledge: -
• Should have knowledge and working experience on different types of welding process, WPS and WPQR
• Knowledge of metals, alloys, and their properties.
• Proficiency in visual and non-destructive testing methods would be added advantage.
• Desirable to have working knowledge of switchgear (circuit breaker, disconnector switches) and panel assembly.
• Ability to assess and select reliable vendors for assembly process.
• Should have good understanding of GD&T parameter related to part drawings.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skill, Effective usage of data analysis tools (e.g., Root cause analysis, 8D, 7QC Tools).
• Good Experience & knowledge on FMEA (Process), Control Plan, QAP, Short- & long-term Process capabilities
• Communication and Presentation Skill.
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI preferred.
• Working knowledge of SAP ERP
