Job Description

Safran Landing Systems is the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems and is at the forefront of contributing to safer, more sustainable aviation for current and future generations.

Our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation partner with a range of global customers, working closely with major airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar.

What will I be doing?

Due to internal promotion, we now have an opening for a Hydraulic Inspector & Assembler to join our team. In this role, you will receive hydraulic sub-units for testing & repair. You will be responsible for the process in its entirety from fault diagnosis of test failures & implementation of remedial action. Assembly and final test of repaired and overhauled units and final assembly and test of military landing gears will be required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities will include;

• Working to the production plan all hydraulic units and actuation will be covered

• The production plan will demand various work-scopes to include test & repair, repair or overhaul

• Hydraulic units are tested on a rig to determine serviceability

• Serviceable units are inspected to be released back to service

• Failed test units require disassembly and subsequent inspection to return the unit to serviceability

• Parts are sentenced as serviceable, scrap or requiring repair

• Performing minor rework such as hand salvage, blending damaged material, polishing may be required in conjunction with assessing parts/components for repair

• Hydraulic units are fully assembled and tested to CMM & drawing maintenance data

• Responsibility and confidence to sign off and stamp one's own work for safe release back into service in line with all relevant build documentation

• Flexible to cover multiple technical disciplines

Job Requirements

• Basic computer skills are essential

• Apprentice trained, equivalent qualifications or a proven work experience will all be considered

• Experience in working with Inspection & Fitting on Aircraft Landing Gears and Components preferred but other engineering industries will be considered

• Ability to use precision measuring and test equipment

• Dedicated, team player, decisive, target driven, skills flexible, positive attitude

• Good communication
