WESCO Senior Engineer - Project in Glenview, Illinois

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing new product onboarding programs. This includes establishing and processing of product requirements, test plans, import documentation, test completion documentation, pre-shipment inspection and other program tasks. This role will work with 3 rd party service providers, product engineers and internal key stakeholders to ensure all onboarding steps are completed and compliant with applicable federal and state and local laws and regulatory requirements in conjunction with WESCO policy and procedures. This position will have no direct reports but will direct 3 rd party work.

  • Collaborate with Service Providers (SP) to develop, harmonize and approve test protocols across all impacted products.

  • Will ensure that all onboarding procedures are well defined & being followed for all external agencies.

  • Process (per SOP) all regulatory change notifications.

  • Experience with vendor management.

  • Microsoft suite of software including Visio and Power Point.

  • Ability to create clear and highly accurate project and documentation is a must.

  • Ability to quickly analyze situations and act decisively.

  • Advanced troubleshooting abilities.

  • Plans and executes onboarding programs.

  • Consults with China Procurement center on supplier training and supplier data collection.

  • Project manages completion of 3rd party agency work including DOE, EPA, Energy star, state chemical reporting, etc., internally or with 3rd party agents.

  • Test report auditing for compliance.

  • Will support non-compliance event and investigations and support all identified Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPAs) resulting from Non-Conformance and/or Complaint investigations.

  • Act as POC responsible for contacting the appropriate stakeholders to obtain information needed to aid in the investigation.

  • Execute notifications within the established regulatory requirements. Ensure the timely closure of all Complaints/Events.

Experience

  • 5-7 Years of relevant Project Engineer experience

  • 3-5 years experience running multiple projects

  • Knowledge of Technical Compliance requirements for “Importer of Record” products sold in USA.

  • Familiarity with government agencies and retail product requirements such as CFRs, UL, DOE, CEC, NSF, EPA

  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing

  • Data analysis and reporting

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload

  • Basic understanding of supplier corrective action Plans (CAPA)

  • Can use, review and improve DFMEA/PFMEA and control plans

  • Ability to work in cross-functional team environment

  • Business acumen and understanding of Merchandising

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering is required.

  • Masters Degree is preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and support concepts (ITIL, BICSI, LEAN, and others).
