The Logistics Analyst (Finance Focus) will be responsible for optimizing logistical operations for U.S. agricultural exports to China, with a strong emphasis on financial analysis to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role will include coordinating loading plans, transportation, shipment instructions, and release activities; managing key suppliers and shipping lines; and ensuring business expectations and contractual obligations are met.
Essential job duties include:
- Oversee the transportation of agricultural products from the U.S. to China, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness by coordinating loading plans, transportation, shipment instructions, and release activities.
- Identify and enhance logistics performance, close process gaps, and foster cross-functional collaboration to optimize export operations.
- Analyze the entire supply chain to identify areas for improvement and optimization, including evaluating suppliers, transportation routes, inventory levels, and demand forecasts to ensure smooth operations.
- Specialize in logistics, gaining expertise in optimizing transportation routes, negotiating freight contracts, and managing inventory levels to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the trading team to develop pricing strategies based on market trends, demand-supply dynamics, and cost considerations. Explore critical insights to optimize profit margins and market competitiveness.
- Analyze financial data related to logistics and supply chain operations post-contract completion to identify trends, risks, and opportunities through cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support decision-making.
- Prepare monthly container business reports and analyze the performance relationship between accounts receivable, purchase costs, and futures trading profits/losses.
- Monitor the execution status of purchase contracts, sales contracts, and shipments through Google Suites to ensure timely and accurate delivery of commodities, manage logistics related documentation, and resolve any operational issues that may arise. Analyze sales and inventory levels to ensure replenishment supports sales trends.
- Participate in special projects as assigned, communicating project findings/results to the logistics team, managers, manufacturing facilities, and others as required.
- Conduct annual meeting presentations, including performance analysis, strategic planning, and oral presentations.
- Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
Job requirements:
- Accredited Masters degree, or foreign equivalent, in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
- At least 2 years of related experience in logistics, project management, financial analysis, or related fields.
- Knowledge of financial systems and processes.
- Knowledge of accounting and project management.
- Familiarity with the entire process lifecycle of business projects, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Proficiency in Plex and Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in EPR software, with a focus on SAP and Oracle.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Strong customer service orientation to maintain good relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with various levels of management.
