Job Summary
This position serves as the primary company interface with regulatory agencies on compliance related issues, and interfacing with NRC staff and station personnel as needed.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
Working with other station staff to prepare technical and compliance-related, time critical correspondence to the NRC. This correspondence requires the approval of the station Vice President and includes Licensee Event Reports, Operator Licensing submittals, 10 CFR Part 21 Reports, and responses to inspection report Notices of Violation.
Serving as the primary station coordinator for NRC Mitigating Systems Performance Indicators.
Serving as a primary station contact for reviewing and interpreting regulatory guidance regarding compliance with the station's current licensing basis.
Developing, integrating, and executing improvement techniques, maintaining a focus on common process efforts utilizing benchmarking and setting performance standards.
Providing leadership for and coordination of various performance improvement programs at the plant.
Assisting in the coordination of some Corrective Action Program activities.
Ensuring appropriate actions are taken to address non-compliance issues.
Performing reportability reviews of condition reports.
Coordinating NRC inspection activities.
Preparing regulatory compliance related inputs to the Monthly Performance Report.
Supporting investigation or self-assessment activities as assigned.
Preparing and maintaining applicable procedures, business practices, and reference manuals.
Participating in industry groups to identify best practices, new technologies, industry trends and pending regulatory changes.
Performing Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.
As necessary, attending offsite training workshops to increase proficiency.
Serving as the station compliance contact for 10 CFR 72 (dry cask/ISFSI) activities and maintaining the station’s 10 CFR 72.212 reports.
Performing commitment reviews as requested
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:
Bachelor of science degree in Engineering or technical discipline OR Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field +11 years related work experience OR Certified educational experience equivalent to an Associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field + 11 years related work
Hold or having previously held a Senior Reactor Operator's (SRO) or Reactor Operator's (RO) license preferred.
Prior licensing and/or regulatory compliance experience preferred.
Possessing plant-specific knowledge, such as technical specifications and Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (USFAR), is highly preferred.
Strong team/interpersonal skills to aid in the resolution of regulatory issues with multiple site organizations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other business-unit specific computer applications.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
Advanced technical evaluations.
Independently assess and resolve potential conditions adverse to quality.
