We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team and fill a temporary position due to a maternity leave. This role involves working in Adult Medicine, where you will complete the patient intake process, assist clinicians with daily care, perform various medical tasks such as taking vital signs, and document information in the medical record. You will also help clinicians with administrative tasks, including faxing and phoning in prescriptions, calling for reports and records, and collecting and relaying lab information. Supervision will be provided by clinicians, RNs, and the clinical nursing manager.
Responsibilities
Complete patient intake process
Assist clinicians with daily care
Perform medical tasks such as taking vital signs
Document information in the medical record
Assist with administrative tasks like faxing and phoning in prescriptions
Call for reports and records
Collect and relay lab information
Essential Skills
Certified Medical Assistant
Completion of MA program from an accredited school
Experience in family medicine or pediatrics
Experience with EMR systems
Certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, NAHP, or ARMA
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Externship in family medicine or pediatrics
Experience in medical assisting
Ability to perform manual blood pressure and triage
Work Environment
You will be working in a Pediatric Specialty environment located at 200 Hospital Dr #300, Maryland. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with one evening shift from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm. Parking is free on site. This position offers above market average pay and the potential for temp-to-hire (TTH). You will not be required to work weekends. We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and function primarily as a safety net provider offering multidisciplinary health care services to all individuals, with a special focus on underserved and marginalized populations. Our services include adult and pediatric primary care, behavioral health and substance use, dental services, diabetes care, infectious disease management, LGBTQ services, Ob/Gyn care, full-service pharmacy services, psychiatry, and social services.
