We are offering an exciting opportunity in the manufacturing industry, located in GLEN ALLEN, Virginia, United States. We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team, offering a role that demands great communication and autonomy within a small team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting both external and internal audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and in compliance with applicable standards

• Performing account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and accurate

• Preparing and posting journal entries, contributing to the accuracy of the general ledger

• Conducting expense analysis and review of accounts, identifying any discrepancies or areas for improvement

• Participating in process improvement activities, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations

• Working overtime during close weeks to ensure all accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Blackbaud to manage and analyze financial data

• Contributing to the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.

Skills:

• Proficiency in using Excel formulas for financial analysis and reporting

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Blackbaud

• Strong skills in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Proven ability to prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger

• Experience in conducting month-end close processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant in the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• In-depth knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel including advanced Excel formulas

• Experience with month-end close procedures

• Familiarity with D365, SAP, and Blackbaud software

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
