We Are Seeking

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary I to join the Town Prosecutor’s Office. We work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and positive communication skills are paramount. The Legal Secretary I provides support to the prosecutors, paralegals and other support staff by maintaining electronic files and databases.

This limited-term agreement position has been approved through 6/30/2025 and may be eligible for renewal based on need and performance in the role.

Other essential duties include obtaining police and other agencies’ reports, creating and entering new cases into the case management system; organization of daily docket; sorting and distribution of incoming mail; monitoring of incoming phone calls through our automated messaging system and referring to appropriate staff personnel; redactions of all victim information in compliance with victim rights laws.

We are seeking a team player as this role will assist other Legal Secretary I’s dedicated to specific areas with their work depending on caseload distribution and assignments.

The Legal Secretary 1 utilizes the Prosecutor Case Management System (ePros) and Gilbert Police system VERSATERM as well as Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) through AZ DPS, to obtain criminal histories. This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt – eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualified candidates must possess the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma of equivalent (G.E.D.)

  • One year of experience in a research-based position providing customer service

  • Experience in a legal environment is preferred
