Garden City Hospital Nurse in Garden City, Michigan
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a crucial role in providing patient care, promoting health, and preventing illness. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Your responsibilities will include direct patient care, medication administration, patient education, and documentation of patient information.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' health status through interviews, physical examinations, and review of medical records.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs, including setting goals, interventions, and outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor patients' responses.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and other indicators of health status, and report any changes or abnormalities.
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living, wound care, and therapeutic procedures.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and support services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Adhere to established nursing standards, protocols, and procedures, as well as legal and ethical guidelines.
- Ensure patient safety by following infection control protocols, medication safety practices, and proper use of medical equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and continuing education activities to enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during times of illness, injury, or end-of-life care.
