JOB SUMMARY:
To provide transactional, and analytical support with moderate supervision. Prepares special projects, presentations and provides technical expertise regarding financial activities. The finance specialist will report to the Treasury Finance Manager. This role provides assistance to any or all of the facets of Finance including but not limited to: Cash Management, Supplier Management, Internal Audits and Banking.
*Bachelor's degree in related field, plus 2-3 years of experience required. Position is onsite (Galveston, Tx).
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
• Accepts incoming payments from customers and clinical area’s.
• Receives and verifies deposits from numerous clinic locations.
• Prepares transactional data to upload into the financial management system.
• Provides transactional and analytical support for multiple functions or departments.
• Does ad hoc analysis for management.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State UT System rules and regulations.
• Provides productivity and metric data for management.
• Adheres to appropriate internal controls for the department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
• Answer office calls and assist with department questions at Galveston Cash Office
• Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Microsoft suite (include Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (required) in related field plus 2-3 years of experience.

Standard office equipment
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Standard office environment. Office hours are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

*This is a contract position through HealthCare Systems Staffing (the in-house staffing agency for UTMB). There are no benefits associated with this position.
Compensation
- Hiring Range: $30.50
